How we're serving you during the coronavirus outbreak. Plus, frequently asked questions.

We know that the new coronavirus, which causes the COVID-19 disease, raises questions and concerns in our community. Your credit union is operating in a state of preparedness and monitoring the situation closely to ensure the health and safety of our members and staff.

We are taking precautions in our credit union office and have directed our staff to use preventative measures given by health and government officials.

Account access online or by mobile app

You can always manage your accounts using our online banking or mobile app. You can check balances of accounts, transfer funds to your other 1st Cooperative accounts and/or loans, pay your bills and send credit union staff a secured message. You can also use our app to make check deposits.

Shared branches

Shared branches allow you to process deposits and withdrawals by cash or check from your 1st Cooperative savings and checking account at 70 shared branches in South Carolina. To find a shared branch near you, click the co-op Shared Branch logo on our website, or call us to find a location nearest you. Access to these facilities may be limited to drive-up only during the coronavirus outbreak.

ACH Transfers

If you need to transfer funds from your 1st Cooperative account to another financial institution or from another financial institution to 1st Cooperative, you can authorize your ACH transfer via phone or email by 2 p.m. each business day. If you are not currently using this service, you can complete, sign and return an authorization form along with a copy of a voided check (not a deposit slip), and we will get this service set up for you. Request an “Authorize ACH Transfers” form.

We have reduced walk-in access at our Cayce office, but we’re available by phone (803-796-0234) or email to help with all of your financial needs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 Information sources

To get the latest information on Coronavirus, please visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).

Funds deposited in your credit union are federally insured by a fund backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. As the FDIC does for banks, the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) insures savings of at least up to $250,000 per individual depositor. The NCUSIF is administered by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government.
